What We Believe

GEM girls is a Seventh-day Adventist ministry. Adventists believe that God cares about everything in our lives–the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us. We are important to Him. Below is an overview of our beliefs. For a more detailed view, click here to read our 28 Fundamental Beliefs.

We believe that “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and that, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe that Jesus Christ is “the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

We believe “that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried,

that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3b-4).

We believe that “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

We believe “that whoever believes in him [Jesus Christ] should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16b).

We believe that believers in Christ are called “to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern. what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:1-2).

We believe that believers in Christ are called to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19a).

We believe in the imminent return of Christ and that one day “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).

We believe in the seventh-day Sabbath. "Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day He rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy." (Exodus 20:8-11)

We believe that “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” (Revelation 4:8b).
