Do you find yourself looking in the mirror all the time? Or constantly adjusting your outfit and your hair so it looks "just right"? All of us try to achieve perfection. I mean, who doesn't want to be perfect? And it doesn't help that the world is always throwing pictures of perfect people, with perfect lives, and perfect stuff at us.
Hey GEM girls! Do you sometimes feel like you'll never be good enough? Like even though you put so much effort into trying to be perfect, it seems like you're never getting anywhere?
What is perfection anyway? Well, according to Merriam-Webster perfection is "the quality or state of being perfect: freedom from fault or defect: flawlessness..." Do you know anyone that is perfect? Maybe you're thinking of a celebrity. Well, their pictures, life, and stuff might seem perfect, but when you look behind the facade they are just normal people like us. Have you ever wondered how the girls on the cover of magazines are so perfect? Here's a video by TrueGirl that shows us the behind the scenes.

That video is crazy, isn't it? It shows us that the girls on the cover of fashion, beauty, and most other magazines aren't even real! They are computerized versions of the girls God created.
If you think you will "never be perfect", think about it this way. God created you. So, being the Creator, He gets to decide what is good and what isn't. In Psalm 139:14 it says, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Did you hear that? You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Genesis 1:31 says, "God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good." Let's put those two verses together. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and God said what He created was very good. Don't put yourself down! You are good enough! God created you to be beautifully unique!
So, when you have to remind yourself that you are a daughter of God, remind your friends too! And share this post with them! 😊

It's easy to compare ourselves to things we see daily, but it is important to remember that everyone is unique and made in the image of God.
That video was really eye-opening! The world gives us a false picture of beauty that we can never achieve. God made us beautiful just the way we are!
