On Mother's Day...

Updated: May 23, 2022

What is the one holiday that is dedicated to the most hardworking and under appreciated person in a girl's life? Mother's Day!

Hey GEM girls! What does Mother's Day mean to you? For me, Mother's Day has always been the day (besides my mom's birthday) that our family sets time aside to surprise my mom with a wonderful day of fun and happiness.

Quick question, when was the last time you told your mom that you value everything she does for you? Or told her that she is beautiful inside and out? “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’” – Proverbs 31:28-31

Now, your mom may not be perfect, no one is, but set her mistakes aside and focus on all the good she has done for you. What about everything she has sacrificed for you? Tell her you appreciate her, not just on Mother's Day, but everyday.

To all those girls who don't have a godly mother in their life, hear me out. Mother's Day might be hard because everyone is celebrating someone that you don't have. So, instead of focusing on the bad side of things, focus on the good. Is there a woman in your life that you value and cherish? Send them a card expressing your gratitude. Find other creative ways to reach out and send love to those who have influenced your life for good.

This year we got together with some friends to surprise our moms with a picnic and a trip to some Japanese gardens. What did you do for Mother's Day? Tell me in the comments below!

Remember, everyday is a cause for celebrating your mom!

Love and Prayers,

For Mother's Day my father took my brother and I to get flowers for both my mom and grandma. We then went out to eat for lunch, and had a lot of fun together! I'm glad Mother's Day is a thing because it gives us an opportunity to rest, realize, and appreciate those we love.
