Father's Day

Updated: Jul 13, 2022

There is one person in my life that can fix anything. My dad. Okay, maybe he can’t fix everything, but anytime I need help fixing something, he is there to help and knows just what to do. There is a holiday that comes around every June that is dedicated to celebrating our fathers.

Hey GEM girls! Father’s Day is an important day to recognize and appreciate the father figures in our lives. They play a significant role in helping to shape us into who we will become.

I know that there are some of you out there that don’t have a godly dad in your life, and it can hurt to think about Father’s Day. Our dads are supposed to play a loving, kind, and caring role in our lives and not all of us have that. Remember, that no matter how you are treated by the father figure in your life, you are a child of God. God is different from any earthly parent. He loves us with an everlasting love that gives us peace and comfort. No matter what your situation is with your parents, remember that God loves you no matter what. He wants us to be connected to Him so we can have strength to overcome the things of this world.

No one is perfect, not even our dads. In those times when they mess up, give them grace, and remember that God is your Heavenly Father who will never leave you, forsake you, or fail you. He is a perfect God who loves you no matter what.

There is a chapter in the Bible that talks about the vine and the branches. It specifically refers to Jesus being the vine and all of us being the branches. (John 15) If we are connected to Jesus, we can produce fruit. The fruit is our character traits, such as, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the character traits we want to have. When we aren’t connected to Jesus, we will wither and die inside because we are not receiving the nutrients that come through the Word of God and prayer.

So, GEM girls. No matter how you spent Father’s Day, remember that there is a Heavenly Father who loves you. He is always listening and ready to help you. He wants to have a relationship with you. Do you want to have a relationship with Him? And if you already have a relationship with Him, how is it going?

Let me know in the Sisterhood Community under the “Polls” tab! 😊♥️
