Cultivating God's Garden

Budding trees, blooming flowers, bright green grass, and warmer weather... springtime is here!

Hey GEM girls! Springtime is here, with all of its beautiful colors and warmer weather! It's also time to put plants in the ground for a bountiful summer harvest.

Before those yummy tomato plants can be put into the ground, the soil must be cultivated for the best results. To cultivate means to prepare the ground for gardening. This can be done by breaking up the soil and adding things to it to help the plants grow. Cultivating the soil is an important step in making sure your plants grow well.

I was reading something this past week about how our minds are God's garden. He has given us talents, abilities, and the power to choose. These are gifts that have been given to us by God. In order for us to grow closer to Christ and reflect His character better, we must cultivate our minds to achieve this goal. Another definition of cultivate is to try to develop a certain quality or skill or to improve or develop something.

So how can we cultivate our minds to become more like Christ? One of the most effective ways is through the study of God's Word. This continually expands our minds as we learn more about the love of God and His messages to us. Another way is through talking to God through prayer. One of the best ways to improve relationships is to talk and spend time together. It's also how we can grow closer to God. One more that I will mention is by sharing Him with others. When we share God's love, we strengthen our own connection with Him.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

-Romans 12:2

What are some other ways we can cultivate God's garden- our minds? Let us know in the comments!

Blessings!

Amen amen, Elizabeth!!!! I 200% agree. This is such a good reminder. I think that I sometimes use what God's given me--not just gifts, but even opportunities--for my own sake. But that's so true; these should ultimately be to give glory to God!

I think another way to cultivate our minds is to sing hymns! I love singing, and singing scripture songs or hymns really puts my mind on Jesus. The beautiful words really do something to my heart. 💗
